(yes it is a posh way of saying the dress is a sale price!!)
Now and again we are informed by our Designers that certain wedding dresses are being discontinued. This means we are not able to buy the dresses for our customers any more. It also means we will be able to sell our sample dress at a discounted price.
We have a few dresses in our collection that are ‘Last Chance to Buy’. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the dresses, they just aren’t available anymore. As our customer will know, we keep our dresses really spic and span and even buying a sample dress can look as good as new.
Because the dresses aren’t brand new, you can pick up an amazing dress at an incredible sale price. Its quite a savvy purchase. If you are lucky enough to fit the dress pretty well (it may not fit 100% but honestly they rarely do) then you’ll feel like a real winner. If it is touch and go as to whether the dress will work for you then we will always advise if the dress can be altered to give you a perfect fit. Trust me, we will be honest as we never sell any dress that won’t be right for you.
Our Last Chance to Buy Wedding Dresses available now:
We are eagerly awaiting our first drop of Anna Kara wedding dresses. When I first saw this collection I couldn’t help but think it would be just perfect for our brides… you’re going to LOVE them! They are so soft and romantic but they have a different look and feel about them from our other unstructured wedding dresses. Take a look:
Umm hello gorgeous dress. This is about as ‘princess’ as we get here at The Ivory Chapter… but you can see why we couldn’t resist buying it for you ladies.
Such a beautiful boho dress. The lace is just so divine, and just look at that lovely spaghetti strap back detail…
With the gorgeous flowing georgette skirt and unstructured bodice. We all love the elegance of a portrait neckline…and cinched in waist and low back. Such an easy-peesy look.
Just so classically gorgeous, such a wonderful neckline. You’ll feel lovely and secure in this dress as the back has an illusion-effect.. so you get the lovely unstructured look but feel really nice and held-in.
We have plenty more Anna Kara dresses coming in the Autumn, but we needed to get these dresses on our rails for you!
So if you love what you see the please do book for an appointment!
Sarah and Adam’s Super-cool rooftop wedding , Great John Street Hotel. Manchester.
Sarah and I go back a long way now and when she told me she was getting married nothing could have prepared me for what the wedding actual day would be like. They chose to celebrate their wedding day in their home city of Manchester on the rooftop of a rather cool boutique hotel. They were so blessed with the weather. The sun never stopped shining and the vibe was cool and relaxed.
Every-single thing had been planned to perfection from the blossom-trees to the music and everything in between. But weirdly nothing felt planned, it all just seemed to happen, there was no flapping, no checking up on things… it was just the way it was (at least that’s how it seemed) clever, very clever…
When Sarah sent the WhatsApp to say she was getting married (she communicates pretty much via Whatsapp!) I was obviously over the moon for her.. (she hasn’t always been lucky in love!) She then proceeded to tell me that she was putting her faith in me to find her the prefect dress. I love a challenge, but this was going to be easy. Sarah is a FLORA bridal girl through and through. I’d get the odd Whatpp message from Sarah with a picture of yet and other FLORA dress asking….”whats this one, it’s gorgeous” Before Sarah had even come to the boutique in my head I was swaying between two dresses that I thought she would get married in- Lucia and Melanie X from FLORA bridal.
The appointment was fab, loved every minute of it, she brought her close friends and family with her and they were a great team, super-helpful advisers.
Within about an hour we had chosen ‘the one’ …It had to be Melanie X, with a ‘frame’ like Sarah’s it was just stunning, and it so matches Sarah’s personality….relaxed, fashionable with a lot of sass.
The Big Day
I was absolutely honoured to be part of this super-cool and intimate day. As soon as we arrived on the rooftop of Great John Street Hotel the atmosphere was relaxed and to be honest I felt like I was in Barcelona. The lift doors opened and you were greeted with the most magnificent flower wall.
There was cool music playing, and a LOT of very handsome men dressed in their slim fitting suits, socks and Reebok classics. This wedding was going to be cool. The rooftop area was effortlessly decorated with blossom trees and comfy seating and the sun was shining like no other day in March…
The ceremony itself was one of the most emotional I have ever experienced. Adam waited nervously for Sarah, but before she arrived each of her bridesmaids and flower girl (Poppy who was awesome) walked in individually and the build up to Sarah’s entrance was insane… then there she was… standing like the most radiant bride that I have ever seen. The sun was shining through her georgette skirt and showing off the dress like I have never seen before. She was mesmerising, a vision I just can’t explain, and no photo (on my phone) will ever be able to capture. I am sure their super-talented photographer Nicola Thompson will have (and we can’t wait to see it!) I cried through pretty-much all of the ceremony, it was so heart-warming and sensitive.
The day whizzed-by and before I knew it, it was 7 o clock and the party was starting…Sarah’s dress got a little ‘hook-up’ to turn that most wonderful train into something more manageable but equally as gorgeous and then she was off dancing the night away…
I can’t thank Sarah and Adam enough for letting me share this special day with them…
WHITE GALLERY IS THE FOREMOST DESIGNER-ONLY BUYING EVENT ON THE INTERNATIONAL CALENDAR
It would be rude not to… these events are only twice a year and they are filled with inspiration for the bold and brave buyers amongst us. There will be no white pouffy meringues in sight (unless they are a hot trend for 2020!) There will be amazing designers from around the globe showcasing the newest trends. I literally can’t wait…
So I’ll be packing my bags on Saturday night ready for a full-on trip to London. I am off to see the latest bridal collections from the best of the best in the Wedding Industry. I have so many amazing Designers to visit in just 2 days…I have a jam-packed itinerary, I literally have no idea when I’ll get to stop to sample the complimentary refreshments!
On the Monday there is a brand new bridal show in town called ‘One Fine Day Bridal Market‘. So after I have been to a few other private appointments that’s where I’ll be. Swooning over the amazingly inspiring collections from Designers that don’t often venture to the UK. So this is uber-exciting for me. These Designers are right up my street!
So when I am back next week, I am sure I will have bought into one more (at least) new Designer’s wedding dress collection. The new wedding dresses will start to land on our rails towards the end of September. Whatever we decide, it will be just in time for our lovely new boutique in Darley Abbey!
I will keep you all posted via my Instagram stories… so keep a look out! If there is anything in particular that you would like to see us stock then please let me know and I’ll keep my eyes peeled.
Our Rewritten bridesmaids dresses, (well I say dresses, it also includes a super-cool jumpsuit!) will be refreshed with a few new pieces very soon. We are hugely excited to have the Rewritten bridesmaid collection at The Ivory Chapter Bridal Boutique. They offer a different vibe to other bridesmaid dresses. Rewritten bridesmaid dresses are certainly less formal and suit our brides that have a more ‘undone’ kind of day. They look effortless cool and there is something for everyone.
Rewritten dresses are designed for all of those awesome bridesmaids out there. The collection is cool, chic, sophisticated and takes an entirely modern approach to bridal wear. The entire collection is hand-designed in London where their talented designers create contemporary designs in the most beautiful fabric and colour combinations. We have picked one of each style so you have each style in one of their gorgeous colours to select from.
So, what’s new?
The newbies that will be winging their way to the boutique soon are the Berlin dress and Soho jumpsuit.
Say hi to the Berlin dress, a floor length dress with a square neckline. It has adjustable bow tie straps and subtle side split. Just a little bit fitted at the waist for a flattering look. The Berlin is one hell of a sophisticated dress with a column silhouette skirt, centre back zip and shoulder ties that can be worn in a multitude of ways. Our new Heather colour is the perfect dusky shade of purple, why not team it with our Oyster and Blackcurrant dresses for the ultimate in tonal bridesmaids dressing.

One of Rewritten’s most exciting launches for 2019, the Soho Jumpsuit offers the ultimate in modern bridesmaids dressing. Featuring flowing wide leg palazzo trousers. With darted waist detail, back of the neck key hole design, bow neck tie and finished with a flattering waist sash tie. You are sure to be the most stylish one at the party in this dream of a jumpsuit. Those wide legs provide just the same amount of swishiness on the dancefloor as any dress. We love purple and what could be more purply than our new Ribena-flavoured shade of Blackcurrant.

Visit our Rewritten page on the website to see them in their full glory. If you love them, don’t be shy come and have a try…
Ever since we have launched our FLORA collection in the boutique, our customers have been hunting them down to see them in the flesh. Girls are coming in showing their Pinterest boards that are riddled with FLORA gowns and they can’t quite believe they can now get their hands on them! What is so satisfying is that the FLORA dresses live up to their expectations. As soon as you put them on, not only do they look current, stylish and …well-bridal they feel so exquisite and also dare I say it ‘comfortable;’ . Comfort isn’t often the highest priority for the big day- but if you can look this sassy and cool and also feel comfortable then I’d take it! A big thumbs up to FLORA for this.
Here is a little bit more of what we have to come to add to the already AMAZING collection of FLORA wedding dresses:
With her pretty soft cap sleeves with the most sumptuously plunging V back. The skirt has a soft fishtail. The lace on the bodice is so stunning and completely different from what you see in most bridal collections- this is what makes Julia so unique and special.
She is a knock out. If you refer a plunging V neck to the high neck of Julia this is the way to go. The lace is like nothing I’ve seen before (and trust me I see a lot!) The skirt has a lovely soft fishtail (yes I wrote fishtail… not a shape I love normally) but my goodness I do on Lara, it oozes with Sass, but has all the class to go with it. Oh and the train…
So, if you’d like to try any of our FLORA wedding dresses (or any of our other wedding dresses for that matter) then please do get in touch and we will look forward to welcoming you into the boutique.
Ok so this wedding dress shopping can be a bit of a minefield, from when to start looking, to which boutiques to visit. Let alone when someone throws in a statement like ‘I’m off to a Trunk show’ I mean really… a Trunk show….what on earth is that?
So, here’s what a Trunk show is:
It is an event which may run for a day or for an entire weekend where a Designer of a Bridal Collection comes to the boutique with their entire collection of wedding dresses. I know what you’re thinking, why don’t we stock the entire collection. I wish, oh wish I could, but it just isn’t feasible for a little boutique like mine to stock all of the dresses, plus it would actually bankrupt me! So twice a year we get the opportunity to have the full collection available for you lucky brides-to-be.
Why it’s great to attend a Trunk show
If you love a certain Bridal Designer and you ‘pin’ all of their dresses and stalk them on Instagram (let’s face it we all have one!) then it’s a bit like a book-signing or meeting a celeb. Not only can you talk to the Designer (eek!), you will also be able to find out a little more about the dresses and if there are any specific requirements then they’ll be on-hand to help. Plus isn’t it fab to tell your friends that you met the face behind the brand.
Is a Trunk show a Wedding Dress sale?
Technically no, as the dresses are all current collections and often brand-spanking new to the collection they aren’t ‘sale’ dresses. However ofter there is a promotion on the dresses, or an incentive such as big a dress and get a free veil.
Our FLORA Bridal Trunk show 18th-20th January 2019
We are excited to be hosting our first ever FLORA bridal trunkshow here at The Ivory Chapter. We will have a selection of FLORA gowns for the weekend of 18th-20th January 2019. For anyone that hasn’t already seen or tried FLORA gowns… the are stunning and so very contemporary and stylish.
We will be running our Trunk Show on an appointment basis, allowing an hour and half per bride. That way you can take your time to view the collection and try on your faves knowing that the time is all yours!
Petra from FLORA Bridal will be joining me to help you lucky ladies to find the dress that you simply won’t want to take off. We can’t wait to welcome you to The Ivory Chapter.
Wel we have ever first ever trunk show at The Ivory Chapter this January. Friday 18th-Sunday 20th.
Our utterly gorgeous real bride Catherine looking over the moon to be marrying her prince charming in one of the most stunning wedding venues in the midlands- Pendrell Hall, Staffordshire.
Catherine wore the utterly divine wedding dress Nadine from Sassi Holford’s bridal collection So Sassi. The warm almond colour of this dress against Catherine’s skin and hair tones is just remarkable, the contemporary geometric lace and un-expected cut-out back worked so well with the soft mermaid silhouette; as soon as Catherine tried this dress on it was a resounding ‘yes’ from all of us!
So take a look, I’m sure you won’t help but smile when you look at the photos, such happiness oozes from this happy couple in each and every shot. The photos were captured by Kimberley Hill Photography.
FLORA bridal trunk show is coming to Derbyshire in January 2019 , and we can’t wait!
It will the first time FLORA bridal has hit the midlands, showcasing their wonderful collection of the most remarkable wedding gowns!
So I’m sure it comes as no surprise that here at The Ivory Chapter we are more than excited to host this fabulous event; as it gives us the perfect opportunity to show off this amazing collection of bridal gowns from Israel.
Rinat Asher, the designer, prides herself on her luxurious choice of fabrics, which allow for maximum comfort and compliment the body beautifully. FLORA Bridal design can be easily identified by its handmade embroidery and beadwork unique to every dress, the soft flowing fabrics, handmade lace and high quality of workmanship. Every dress gets the personal attention of Rinat, which gives the entire collection a personal touch.
I personally adore each and every one of the gowns in the FLORA collection, as the are contemporary and relevant for the modern bride. Those of you who know me, will understand just how much value I place on quality and wearability when it comes to wedding dresses. Therefore it was a no-brainer for me to become a FLORA stockist (and a very proud one too!) as their dresses are spot on with both aspects. The images of the dresses are divine but when you see them in the flesh you will adore them even more- we’ve all been there- pinned on Pinterest a wedding dress we love the look of, but when we see it in the flesh it is not quite what it would seem in the pictures… this is really disappointing for anyone, so needless to say, this is not the case with FLORA wedding dresses, they are remarkable, they really are!
FLORA Bridal gowns are priced between £3200 and £6500.
